Well, it looks like the Cairo job may not happen after all. It would seem that the end user has some timing issues, I have been told that the job won’t happen for a couple of days – but I’ve been around in this game long enough to know what that actually means. Still I’ll start looking for something else in the morning, as I’ve been at home for six weeks now and that’s long enough – or it will be by the time I find something else.

So over the next few days I’ll need to get some of the old web sites tidied up and do some more work on my daughters blog, which she is going to use to assist with funding a trip to Peru to work with street children. She is along with one of her friends producing an EP which she hopes to sell on iTunes, but she has tried to monetize the blog using iTunes and Amazon affiliate programs. I have explained that to raise the required cash to volunteer for this charity (Yes, the volunteers are self funding and provide the building materials) with all the associated costs she will be looking at around £6,000 for both of them to go.

A quick back of the fag packet calculation reveals that they will have to have click throughs to the equivalent of 240,000 downloads, that is based on 2.5p per click through. I suspect that there will be a number of other fund raising efforts. I’ll be donating any revenues from this website, if it ever gets to be enough for Amazon to pay me – they currently owe me £6.21. Probably enough for a quick camel ride to somewhere! Mind you if it takes much longer than a couple of weeks to find a job, I’ll be looking to go on one of these charity gigs myself.
