I should find out about the Cairo job tomorrow, I have all the paperwork in place and all I have to do is sort out the shots and the Visa. This hasn’t bee that easy to organise so far, but there’s a hope that the last bit will go pretty quickly and I’ll be able to get out there soon. The customer is a Telco and the work will involve doing the discovery phase,  the project involves clustering of all the applications over a 25Km link.

The work should be relatively straight forward, the discovery phase and the planning phase should take around four to six weeks. Then I’m sure that there will be a number of iterations of the initial report, probably matching the number of iterations that there will be of the requirement. I have only had minimal communications about the job at the moment, however I’m expecting further details tomorrow. I have no idea what problems I’m likely to experience on this job, but it’s likely that the old “There’s a bit of sand in the Foo Foo valve.” excuse will be used to cover off any problems.

As an aside, I am told that there will be a driver provided – but I have intimated that if I have to go anywhere by Camel. It has to be a pretty one………………..
