Network People.

Network Admin
Leader of the Networking Team
As with many larger companies, we have a networking team. These people are top class professionals, delivering a service second to none. As can be seen from the picture the head of the team is a highly strung individual, here we see him preparing to reconfigure the core networking switches – a task that he ready to tackle at a moments notice. The team have all the latest technology, this includes Blue Tack – only used infrequently. However when it is used it is used with great effect. I have known it to be used to join two fiber cables in extreme cases. Just goes to show how ingenious these people are, most mere mortals would only use it to stick things on a wall – not to keep a primary fiber circuit functional. This job alone proves how talented these people are, they can probably make a nuclear reactor from an egg carton, a squeezy bottle and some sticky backed plastic.

An other member of the Network team was Pepe the prawn, well his full name was Pepino Rodrigo Serrano Gonzales he was one of the key people in the team. His specialty was the sneak attack on the network, his lightning speed would allow him to completely negate all network functions in seconds.

Pepino Rodrigo Serrano Gonzales

Pepe as we can see from his picture was a highly motivated player, he has on occasion excelled in performance. An example would have been his extremely rapid decommissioning of the DNS server, a task he completed with a thorough and direct methodology – he simply walked into the computer suit and turned it off. His task completed, Pepe simply went home.  His networking skills were legendary in the business, his ability to snatch unparalleled disaster from the jaws of major success was well known in the company.

Unfortunately for the company Pepe is no longer with us, he simply disappeared one day, there is a rumor  that he was mistaken for an h’orderve at one of the network team meetings and didn’t make it out of the meeting.

Pepe might no longer be with us, but his legacy remains even down to the vocabulary that we use in our day to day communication. When there is a network problem and these are not that uncommon, up will go the collective shout. “We’ve been Pepe’d”, however such problems don’t tend to last too long before being resolved. The new generation of network specialists that are coming forward are not half as much fun, they plan things, have meetings and communicate the outcome, they use words like contingency and project plan – not like the old days eh, Viva Pepe!
