Well today has been a pretty good day all in all, I’ve had several calls about potential jobs – and after the weekend news I’m glad that the Cairo job didn’t happen. Today was a birthday for yours truly and it started with me being sung Happy Birthday by a Choir no less. Then there was the usual run of the mill chores, I’d hoped to get the grass cut – but due to somewhat inclement weather conditions that didn’t pan out.
Tomorrow I have a telephone interview for a job in Cheltenham and if that goes OK a face to face on Thursday, so I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed for that one. It could be a very interesting position, even although it is likely to be a short contract. I’ll probably have the job specification with me tomorrow morning and will know more about the work, but there shouldn’t be anything that’s a real surprise. I’ve also been approached on behalf of a company called Wipro, something to do with a migration project – where there are a whole load of applications to be brought back onshore to the UK. That should be interesting!
So there you have it, a not to bad day so far. I’m now just about ready to start the assistance with the old fund raising for my Daughters charity trip to Peru, although there is still some indecision regarding which charity the work will be on behalf of. My daughter and her friends and I think that there are about twelve of them going, are not really bothered who the charity is at the moment – I’m sure that will be as things get closer to the time. Usually teenagers feel the pressure about five minutes before the event at which time there is a sudden melt down followed by several objects flying around the room, then the realisation that they still have to make the decision – which is usually followed by the question “What do you think I should do?”
I’m now going out to by my birthday lottery ticked, so will finish here maybe I’ll get a chance to post before I go down south.
