I was in one of our other offices yesterday, the day which I had planned quite carefully worked out OK for the most part. However as is the way of things you find out at the last moment that there is always scope for the Muppets to strike when you don’t expect it.
As I’ve said several times in the past we are migrating our applications to a new data centre in Europe and for the most part things are going quite well, but there is always the opportunity for thing to go a bit less well. So it was with yesterday, things didn’t go less well when we had plenty of time to deal with it – nope it did the usual and went less well at the last moment. However the problem was resolved fairly quickly in the first instance, however there was a second incident – exactly the same as the first. And the perpetrator of the second incident sat beside the perpetrator of the first – a communist plot or what?
Today was spent in the office tying down some loose ends, then I started on what I thought would be a simple piece of work – but alas it wasn’t to be! Trying to retrospectively install things in Solaris Sparse Zones can be a bit of a pain in the posterior. Still I have an other day to get that problem solved, but just wonder what else I’ll find along the way.
This last piece of work is for the Hokey Kokey application, I’m sure that every project like this has one – you all know the one I mean. It always relates to the scope of the application, in, out, in, out shake it all about!
Still tomorrow is an other day, the Muppets won’t be in – there will be no interruptions for most of the day. So I’ll have to wait until Monday before the Muppets can strike again!
