The users that we have are a nice bunch of people, a bit out of it but a nice bunch of people nonetheless. I’m not sure what the collective I.Q. is but it is probably in single digits, not that you should hold that against people who are paid the minimum wage – but it can be difficult some times.
As we all live in a P.C. world and by default have to embrace the concept of “inclusivity” – not such a big issue I hear you say, well when you live in a world where the men think that an ironing board is some thing that comes with the wife when you get married. You may be in for a bit of a rude awakening, or maybe not depending on where you came from.
Here is where things get a bit complicated, the bulk of the users are just ordinary people – I know I have to work with them. However there are some that have taken the “inclusivity” demanded by the company as an “I’m better than anyone else charter” this I don’t think is what was meant by “inclusivity”, this really only became apparent during one of the recent charity events that we held in house. As a company employing thousands of people there is bound to be a representative sample of society when compared to the working demographic, which is to say that we have all kinds of people in the company.
I just wish that some of them wouldn’t use the “inclusivity” thing as a way of foisting their views and opinions on others in the work environment, especially as the other people in the work place don’t actually care – these people are in fact well balanced. In fact they seem to have a chip on each shoulder!
