Muppet of the week!

Tha Awards Panel.

In the best traditions of systems administration, I look around the peer group sites on the internet. I read posts from my peers, sometimes I might even know the answer to the question asked and if there is still a chance that a response may help I’ll even respond. However searching the internet and looking at these posts sometimes has to make you wonder, especially about the things that people claim to be able to do – more commonly known as their resume and what they are actually capable of. The following is an example of a resume followed by a post that this individual has posted, judge for yourself – let me know if you think the award is unfair or if you can identify a more deserving recipient.

Please pay particular attention to the list of specialities and his current position, these are comprehensive and not insignificant. However there would appear to be some minor discrepancies around the understanding of certain words, in particular the word specialties, I would interpret the word when used in a resume as number three in the following list:-

specialty

noun

1: an asset of special worth or utility; “cooking is his forte” [syn: forte, strong suit, long suit, metier, speciality, strong point, strength] [ant: weak point]
2: a distinguishing trait [syn: peculiarity, specialness, speciality, distinctiveness]
3: the special line of work you have adopted as your career; “his specialization is gastroenterology” [syn: specialization, specialisation, speciality, specialism]

He also exhibits exemplary patience as can be seen from his closing comment, this is the world we live in – alas the muppets are slowly taking over.
