That’s us down to two full working days to go, as expected the last two weeks have just rocketed past and there now seems to be a shortage of time to complete all the required tasks. The crate problem seems to have been resolved and the final touches are being applied at the new location, today we had the relocation of the structured wiring patch panels to contend with. All seems to have gone OK on that front, although the rack plan wasn’t quite as expected in the end. The end result was pretty much what was wanted, tomorrow I’ll be doing the labelling of some os the cables and getting some of the last bits of virtualisation completed.
On the other hand, there’s been some humorous moments in the run up to the move, although discovering that there had been no backups for a full two weeks wasn’t one of them. That problem was resolved by my colleague today, while I was running around in panic mode – although I did resolve some of the virtualisation issues that we had this morning.
Anyway, tomorrow is as they say an other day. I’m now looking forward to having this job completed, just to get to the point where I cam complete the documentation and hand over the day to day running of everything to my European colleagues who will be here in person from Thursday for almost a week.
