A Bandwidth Hog!

It was Saturday, the Internet access was really slow. Someone else must have been working and they must be one of the Bandwidth Hogs, like Dr Julius Strange Pork pictured here before he retired. Julius cared not a jot about bandwith usage, sending large files accross the network as attachments in emails to the hundreds of people he used to work with. All throughout the day any attempt at Internet access was enough to cause my desktop to grind to a halt, even when I was trying to access sites that would normally be quiet at the weekend such as Sunacle. The Bandwidth Hog is one of the most cunning people you will meet, they look like they are doing huge amounts of work but employ several interesting techniques to ensure that they get more of the bandwidth than anyone else. One of the simplest methods that they use to ensure maximizing their available bandwidth is delegation, they delegate all kinds of tasks to other users on the network ensuring that they dont have time to used any bandwidth. Other techniques that they employ include sneaking into the office early and staying late, these are just some of the tricks that they use.

They can become extremeists, they have been known to utilize other tricks like going away to other locations. From there they will bombard their coworkers with requests for information, causing them to use less bandwidth – to the bandwidth hogs advantage. As a last resort they have been known to sneak around the office, unplugging desktops and cutting the end of the cable so as to grab even more bandwidth.
