Well as you may be able to tell from this post I’m not in Brazil or the Bahamas, so the lottery ticket was a waste of time. But I live in hope that one day I’ll be able to laugh down the phone at some poor soul that is in desperate need of help. Still the day in the office was OK, I had some problems with the systems in that I couldn’t access the root passwords on some of the servers. However I did manage to move the forum and the library to a new server in Europe, although it took longer than I expected – it still went in OK.
As for the rest of the day it was a bit of a bust, I only achieved a small part of whet I wanted but it does tick a couple of required boxes. I’m now looking forward to sorting out a few of the other issues that we have, it’s just that the jobs are a bit naff and they are controlled by users that have the IQ of a building brick. In the short term I will have lots to do to sort out some problems, however in the long term I’ll have to hand it all over to people who are called arse and elbow. Still I didn’t come here to run people down, but it may be that what the whole thing is about.
I’ve just decided that there is the minimum of connectivity available when in comes to remembrance Sunday, as everyone else is at the church – so I’m looking for some support here.
