Well in the interests of team work, I carried on with the closure of the tasks and changes today. In all I must have closed around 560 tasks, which generated some 630 emails. Something that I’m sure everyone will be grateful for on Monday morning, I also did some checks and some other work but not really anything to shout about. One of the other things that I did was assign about half of the remaining tasks to people where I could identify who would be likely to do the work, something else that I’m sure I’ll be thanked for. I also did my two good deeds for the day, my ex colleague returned to find that the battery of his car was almost pancaked – so I borrowed “Booster Cables” and sorted him out in return for some coffee and some Apple technical support (mainly because I don’t have one close).
So all that remains is to go into the office and deal with the abuse in the morning, then try to broach the subject of team work – as it relates to a Pan European team. What needs to be decided is the way forward, sure we can as has happened once before waste the opportunity to create a team or with a little foresight and planning we can move forward and leave a capable team in place when the migration work comes to an end probably towards the end of this year.
