I travelled down to one of the other offices today, only to oversee the computer room clean. I arrived minutes after the cleaning squad, they were all standing in reception looking bemused. The security guard steadfastly refusing to let anyone in as no one had told him that we were coming, one up for security. He eventually resented when the maintenance man whom I knew arrived.

From there the day never fully recovered, we had to wait while the maintenance contractor inhibited the fire detection system. This was a new one on me, cover each sensor with a latex glove so that it looked like an albino chicken.

Once we managed to get into the computer room, after climbing over an aray of vents and ducting carefully laid out by the air conditioning contractors. We managed to gain access to the offending computer room, to be greeted by a trail of foot prints in concrete from the main door to the tape storage area. These occupied nearly all the time for one of the cleaning crew’s day, stubbornly refusing to be removed.

I drove home and am still in a bad mood, but there’s nothing specific that I can put my finger on that I can blame for it.
