Still young and keen!
The day (last Thursday) started quite early, a drive from the Northeast to the West Midlands was the opening play. This didn’t go so well as only 20 or so miles into the journey a truck had fallen over on the Motorway, still I have some spare time I thought to myself. By the time I arrived at my destination I was a prime candidate for a Road Rage conviction, thus it was when the young and keen auditor from PWC came to visit me. This was the youth that had caused me so many problems, the fabrication of a couple of months data and audit trails – not in truth easy to do on modern Unix systems. Still I felt that I was relatively safe from discovery as I had a feeling that his qualifications were found in a “Lucky Bag”, it didn’t take long to realise that his skills were well below those that I thought he had. In fact I was soon wishing that there was some kind of challenge to be had as I’d travelled for almost five hours for this meeting, into an area of the country where there was the over whelming feeling that they still ate their children. In any event, the audit seemed to pass without incident and we will hear in due course if the deceit was successful. I would like to be able to say that the audit has inspired me with confidence as to how we safeguard the enterprise, but alas this is not possible as all I have done is convince myself that the auditors are just an other bunch of Muppet’s.

It was also a joy to discover that the systems administrators at the AIX center of excellence were now all onboard with the planned migration of the systems to Europe, just as soon Europe is moved to the West Midlands!
