This is a picture taken from the window in my living room as was, now that I’ve moved from Skye the view isn’t as exciting – but I’m closer to most amenities and effectively locked down again.

What has that got to do with running systems for Muppet’s I hear you ask, well in truth not very much. Except I have been dealing with a bunch of Muppet type people namely Tesco’s online shopping team, here I use the word team pretty loosely – more like a kind of loose affiliation of people who have a combined IQ which comes pretty close to the IQ of a garden pea!

So far in order to assist them I have tried using the online shopping from four different devices, using three different operating systems and three different browsers and the Tesco App and lost about six hours of my life that I won’t get back. However it would seem that the Error 500 on the server is my fault, but when I get logged into the site and I chose home delivery it picks up my new address with no slots available – ever, if I pick Click and Collect it wants me to drive back to Skye, but there are collection slots available in Skye and Ayrshire – so I don’t really think it’s my fault.

To humour the support people, I’ve tried clearing the cache and cookies, browsing in Incognito mode, used Safari, Firefox and Chrome. Power cycled the router and home hub, logged out, logged in, the only thing I haven’t done is sacrificed a virgin – only because they are damned difficult to find nowadays!

Now I thought that Asda provided relatively good support, not brilliant just adequate – however compared to Tesco’s standard Asda really does provide a diamond level service. The last email to Tesco elicited an automatic response, telling me that they’ll either call me or email me in the next 48 hours. Good job I’m OK for food and can actually get to the shops – all this fun for a paltry £7.99 per month!
