Well there are no more Kipper Club breakfasts left, this will be the end of an era for me really. Where am I ever going to find a canteen that will serve Kippers for breakfast, especially decent ones! Still it has been great and I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the people that I’ve worked with, just for being you and making the job so pleasurable and interesting over the years.
Since we have moved to the new building we have enjoyed a high standard of cuisine, this is some thing I will find hard to replace anywhere else I go. Now I can’t be accused of being a healthy eater – I’m Scottish after all, but the long and the short of it is that it doesn’t matter. Although in the past I must admit to trying a deep fried Mars bar and a deep fried pizza (who in Scotland hasn’t), I still try and use the canteen – and yes I’ve given up trying to educate them. That task will be passed to someone else now, there are still some Scottish contractors there – you know who you are!
On a professional note the current task is to find a new contract, I have started looking and today had a teleconference interview (A first for me) usually it was just a phone call or turn up in person and answer the questions.
On a more somber note, a great friend and colleague Kevin J Harvey passed away 0n the 23rd of August.
I had the great honour of working with Kevin for a number of years and counted him as a close friend, we used to see each other a couple of times a week and I will miss his sense of humour. There are too many good things to say about Kevin here, just suffice to say that whereas I post things in an anonymous blog – if you’re a muppet and you knew Kevin then the chance are that you know you’re a muppet as Kevin had probably told you as much.
