Sysadmin Banzai!
The project at long last has started to move again, we have all the pre and post implementation tasks sorted out and we will be starting to create virtual systems in Europe and move applications onto them. Now the fun will start, we’ll have to deal with people who get the knowledge of the systems from the Ladybird Book of Computing Page #1. Or if there is a snippet in a fortune cookie that will suffice, this seems to be the way forward though.

We’ve just had our European colleagues over here in the UK for the past three days and the progress has been significant, in fact the team has completed the assigned task in a total time of 5 days of working together. The bulk of the work has fallen to one of our European colleagus, he has done an outstanding job – one that would stand up any where I think. In order to complete this task in such a short window he has had to put in many long days, I know that it was someone else that did the work but I have to say that I feel it was worth it.

Our European colleagues have been great to work with, they have delivered an excellent solution to the problems that we have had to resolve. I must make a note to myself that a email of thanks is in order, this should go to the people who can convey the thanks  in a meaningfull way to our colleagues. I must say that I look forward to any further work that I have to do with Ralf and Michael, as it has been a pleasure to work with them. All I have to do now is put together a mraining workshop for the other members of the UK team in order to pass the skills on, that it seems to me is where we now are!
