The day started in a kind of strange way, I got a call from the wife – the first of several. Telling me that at least a foot of snow had fallen in the previous 24 hours, this was followed in short order by an other call telling me that the 4X4 was stuck on the drive way. Well underpants on the outside of the trousers and off to the rescue I thought, two calls later I had aranged for a friend with a big boys 4X4 to go to the assistance of the wife.

Then an other call, “Where were the snow chains as the real 4X4 had become stuck in the driveway!” This was followed by yet an other call, all was well as both 4X4’s had made it up the hill and were on the top road. Boy am I glad I’m in Newcastle.

As an aside, today I had cause to speak to one of the colleagues that had gone to Germany to work on the relocation project. The same project that I’m working on in the United Kingdom, the journey out was OK. With a couple of humorous incidents, it was great to hear my colleague recount tha tale. After the conversation with my colleague, I’ve posted a link to what the flight out to Germany must have been like!
