Today I had a quiet day planned, nothing too stressful – just a couple of conference calls, some emails, some setup work on a Oracle “T” series server. How did the day go, well I ended up nowhere near where I expected it to be! However before I left the office at 19:27, I already had a plan for the next day but it was likely to end up with me on a murder charge.
Anyway after the petty arguements of the morning, the day seemed to progress in a more orderly fashion – strange how these things can catch you out isn’t it! I was in one of the serious conference calls, this one was about the final approval and sign off of an application upgrade – highlighted in the Go/NoGo meeting were a number of problems. These were thought to be of a trivial nature, we’ll see tomorrow when the work goes ahead.
What’s the job, well it’s an application update. Will it go OK, who can tell? The documentation has been sent out, all the people who have to do the work are ready – they think. So at seven o’clock tomorrow morning I’ll be in the office waiting for things to start!
The team that are doing the work will be looking to their leader for inspiration and leadership, I hope that they are not too dissapointed – the leader in question was once a Muppet. Well now that I think of it he still is a Muppet – you know the sying Once a Muppet always a Muppet.
